Guanacos
Guanacos typical live about 20 years. They weigh about 200 lbs, and are 3.5 - 4 feet tall. They live throuhout South America. Guanacos travel in herds with mostly female or male groups. They eat grasses brush found in the grasslands and mountain ranges. They are alsoexcellent swimmers, and can run up to 35 mph! The guanaco have an wierd method of survival, they lick all the nutrients and dew from desert cacti to survive if necessary. They can spit when threatened, and they've also devolped thicker neck skin to protect it from harm. Guanacos have been hunted for their soft pelts and their neck skin. Their neck skin could be pounded flat and made into shoe soles!!
